Bringing Holiday Cheer This Season

The holiday season is about more than decorations and turkey, it’s about community, kindness, and ensuring no child misses out on the magic of Christmas morning. This year, our company, Calloway Storage, is proud to step into that spirit, partnering with Rock 95 and KOOL FM on their renowned annual toy drive.

Why the Partnership Matters

Rock 95 / KOOL FM Toy Drive has been a staple in Simcoe County for more than three decades, bringing donated toys and joy to children who might otherwise go without.
As a provider of portable and self-storage solutions across Central Ontario, Calloway Storage saw a perfect match: our mobile containers, delivered and picked up across towns, could play a key role in the logistics of collecting, storing and moving donated toys.
In essence, we’re not just cheering from the sidelines, we’re rolling up our sleeves and offering infrastructure to make the toy drive stronger, smoother and more impactful.

How It Works

  • The toy drive collects new, un-wrapped toys for children of various ages (infants up to teens).
  • Donations roll in via primary drop-off locations, for example: The Calloway Storage and Budget Propane two office buildings in Gravenhurst and other community businesses.
  • Calloway Storage supplies and delivers a portable storage container to key collection and sorting sites. This container ensures that the donated toys stay safe, weather-protected, and can be efficiently transported or transferred as needed.
  • After the collection phase, toys are sorted, stored securely, and distributed to the partner charities and families who need them, thanks to the combined efforts of the radio stations, community sponsors, volunteers, and logistical support companies like ours.

The Impact: More Than Just Toys

What we’re helping to enable is memory-making. Each toy collected becomes part of a story: a child waking up excited on Christmas morning, a family relieved of holiday stress, a community rallying together.
According to the radio stations: in the most recent run, the toy drive partnered with 25 charities and helped more than 1,600 children across Simcoe County.
When you strip away the numbers, what remains is this: hope. A message that says, you matter. A child sees a gift under the tree and knows someone cared. That matters.

How You Can Get Involved

If you’re reading this and thinking, “I want to help,” here are a few ways:

  • Donate a toy: Find a new, un-wrapped toy appropriate for an age range and drop it at one of the drive’s pick-up locations. The list of drop-off sites was shared by the stations.
  • Spread the word: Share the drive on social media, with your friends, at your workplace. The more people who know about it, the more children we can reach.
  • Volunteer: Whether it’s helping at a collection site, assisting with sorting/storage, or participating in transport logistics, you can be a part of this.
  • Support businesses that support the drive: Many local businesses host donation bins, run promotions tied to the drive, or provide logistical support. Your patronage helps amplify their contribution.

Closing Thoughts

At Calloway Storage, we often talk about “storage” as keeping things safe and accessible. But in this case, our containers are storing more than toys, they’re storing possibilities, joy, relief, hope.
And by partnering with Rock 95 and KOOL FM’s toy drive, we’re turning those possibilities into real-world outcomes. Children waking up with smiles. Families feeling supported. A community coming together.
We invite you to join us. Let’s make this holiday season count, for every child who deserves to feel the magic. Because, when we all give a little, the collective impact is huge.

Thank you to everyone involved, our team at Calloway Storage, our radio station partners, the drop-off locations, the volunteers, and you, our customers. Together, we’re making a difference.
