That’s why we were honoured to have a partnership with The Lighthouse in Orillia to support their Storage Solutions Program, an initiative designed to serve individuals who are experiencing homelessness in our region.
A Community in Need of Storage Support
Homelessness doesn’t always look the way people might expect. In Orillia and surrounding areas, many people are living in tents, couch-surfing, or staying temporarily with friends and family. Even for those accessing emergency shelter services, space is extremely limited, especially in congregate living environments.
That’s where the Storage Solutions Program comes in. Run by The Lighthouse’s Outreach team, this program offers individuals a secure place to store their personal items for short periods of time. Whether someone is sleeping outdoors or transitioning into shelter, these containers provide much-needed flexibility and dignity.
With limited space inside the emergency shelter, guests are typically only able to bring what fits inside a single locker and tote. That often means leaving behind important items like extra clothing, sleeping bags, or personal keepsakes. Thanks to the addition of our containers, The Lighthouse can now safely store more of these items for those who need them most.
